Meadowsweet is highly valued for soothing the stomach lining and digestive tract. Traditionally used for acidity, gastritis, and digestive irritation, it helps calm inflammation while protecting delicate mucous membranes. Its gentle astringent properties also make it useful for loose stools and diarrhoea, especially in children.
Refreshing and aromatic, peppermint is one of the best-known digestive herbs. It helps relieve gas, nausea, bloating, and abdominal cramping while encouraging trapped wind to move through the digestive system. Peppermint also brings a cooling, uplifting quality to the blend.
Chamomile is famous for its calming and antispasmodic properties. It helps relax tension in the digestive tract and is traditionally used for colic, gas, diarrhoea, cramps, indigestion, and irritable bowels. It also helps settle the nervous system, which can benefit stress-related tummy upset.
A treasured native New Zealand herb, kawakawa is traditionally used to support healthy digestion. It is especially valued for easing cramps, bloating, spasms, and sluggish digestion while helping trapped wind move through the body. Kawakawa also offers soothing support for irritated digestive tissues.
Used for thousands of years as a digestive remedy, fennel seeds are excellent for relieving bloating, intestinal gas, and digestive discomfort. Their aromatic oils help settle the stomach and support smoother digestion.

Use 1–2 teaspoons per cup (250ml) of freshly boiled water. Steep for 5 minutes, then strain. Avoid over-steeping, as the tea may become bitter. Optional: Add a few slices of fresh ginger root for extra warming digestive support.
Sip throughout the day as needed.
Not recommended for people with diagnosed GORD or reflux-like symptoms, as peppermint may aggravate reflux in susceptible individuals.
