Calendula (calendula officinalis) is often referred to as pot marigold. It can be used both internally and externally. It is very versatile. We have selected our flowers to have a high resin content and they prove to us every day that they have high medicinal qualities (more details below).

Elecampane (inula helenium) clears dense, sticky mucus from the bronchial system. It is warming to the system and relieves coughing and asthma. High in inulin it is also a prebiotic for your gut flora.*

Turmeric tincture is an herbal preparation made from turmeric root grown on KoruKai Herb Farm.

Turmeric is used traditionally for its anti‑inflammatory, antioxidant, and metabolic benefits. A turmeric root extract can serve as a convenient, low‑cost way to incorporate curcumin into daily nutrition, especially when paired with black‑pepper to improve absorption.*

This turmeric extract comes in a 30ml dropper bottle.

Strength: 1:3, 50% vol.

A natural remedy to support the nervous system and uplift the spirit.*

It blends well with lemon balm, chamomile, passionflower, skullcap and other nervines. It can be added to the KoruKai Rest & Relax Tea for added mood and sleep support.

Leonurus cardiaca

This bold botanical melts tension, and dials down occasional anxiety so you can feel confident, calm and totally in your power.*

Motherwort is very effective at tonifying and strengthening the heart and circulatory system. Energetically it helps people to feel lionhearted (note its Latin name Leonurus cardiaca), hopeful and full of life. It helps maintain calmness during occasional stressful times, supporting emotional resilience and balance. Motherwort is potent bitter to aid digestion and tonifies the liver. It is also a strong nervine and can reduce nervous tension, relax muscles and ease menstrual discomfort and cramping. It is a common treatment for hot flushes and emotional upheaval. It is uplifting, yet grounding.*

Harvested at their peak time in the middle of summer, gently dried and processed by hand. This retains their colour and medicinal constituents (see image).

Horseradish tincture is an herbal extract made from the root of the horseradish plant.

Horseradish tincture is a versatile herbal preparation with a range of traditional uses—from easing congestion to supporting digestion and respiratory health. Laboratory studies support its antimicrobial, anti‑inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.*

Kanuka Kunzea ericoides

A "tea-tree" similar to Manuka, traditionally used to make a herbal tea, grows well on KoruKai Herb Farm. We love it for its antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It supports the body to fight off infections.

We use Kanuka in herbal tea blend as foot soak and make infused oils for topical applications.

Scutellaria lateriflora

Skullcap is a premier nervine. It has a wonderful way of calming and centering the nervous system. Skullcap acts as a mild yet effective sedative and helps relieve nervous tension and anxiety. Skullcap can be taken over long periods of time to strengthen and reinvigorate the nervous system, making it more resilient and strong. It also can be taken in acute situations of extreme stress, such as panic attacks and trauma. In these situations skullcap works quickly to bring the nervous system back to a place of homeostasis and calm.*

Mentha suaveolens

Apple mint is a beautiful tasting mint. It can alleviate headache and various digestive problems.*

This tea contains pure perennial Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) grown and dried at KoruKai Herb Farm, Banks Peninsula.

Perennial stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) has a long medicinal history. It has been used for hundreds of years to treat painful muscles and joints, eczema, arthritis, gout, anemia, urinary tract infections and hay fever.*

Fennel seeds have a sweet, warm aroma with notes of anise and licorice. Its flavour is mildly sweet with a gentle anise finish.

Transfer to an airtight container after opening. Best stored in a cool, dry place and keeps for up to 2 years when stored properly.

Ground ginger is essential in much Western baking including cakes, biscuits, and traditional gingerbread. It is widely used in many cuisines, including a variety of stir-fry and curry dishes in India and Oriental countries.

Ceylon cinnamon quills

The use of cinnamon as an aromatic spice can be dated to as far back as ancient Egypt. Popular in spice mixes, sweet or savoury recipes, and hot or cold beverages.
This is Ceylon cinnamon. It is sometimes called 'true' cinnamon and is far superior in taste to the commonly used, cheaper cassia variety.

Filipendula ulmaria

Meadowsweet contains salicylic acid. It reduces inflammation and helps with arthritis, aches, fever, colds, and flu. It also soothes the digestive tract, reducing acidity, heartburn, diarrhoea, and supporting ulcer healing.*
