It is also a strong nervine and can reduce nervous tension, relax muscles and ease menstrual discomfort and cramping. It is a common treatment for hot flushes and emotional upheaval. Because of the bitter flavour it is highly recommended to blend it with other herbs if taken as an herbal tea. It blends well with sage, peppermint, lavender flowers, yarrow and hypericum for a herbal tea or you can turn it into a motherwort tincture, elixir or herb capsule.

Ceylon cinnamon quills
Cinnamomum verum
The use of cinnamon as an aromatic spice can be dated to as far back as ancient Egypt. Popular in spice mixes, sweet or savoury recipes, and hot or cold beverages.
This is Ceylon cinnamon. It is sometimes called 'true' cinnamon and is far superior in taste to the commonly used, cheaper cassia variety.

A "tea-tree" similar to Manuka, traditionally used to make a herbal tea, grows well on KoruKai Herb Farm. We love it for its antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It supports the body to fight off infections.
We use Kanuka in herbal tea blend as foot soak and make infused oils for topical applications.

Filipendula ulmaria
Meadowsweet contains salicylic acid. It reduces inflammation and helps with arthritis, aches, fever, colds, and flu. It also soothes the digestive tract, reducing acidity, heartburn, diarrhoea, and supporting ulcer healing.*
