Medicinal Uses*
Arnica improves the local blood supply and speeds healing. It is anti-inflammatory and increases the rate of reabsorption of internal bleeding. It reduces inflammation and pain caused by trauma and overexertion. It is the number one herbs to treat damaged tissue, bruising, sprains, breaks and strains, muscular tension and fatigue. It revives tired and aching muscles after exercise.

Best to use as a homepathic dose internally and make an infused oil with the flowers for external treatment.

German Commission E has determined that this Meadow Arnica is interchangeable with Arnica montana for its antiinflammatory effects. Arnica chamissonis is less elevation dependent than Arnica montana, and yields well from multiple flower stalks.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

You will get 3 dormant root pieces. Best to plant in loose, loamy soil, and give a sunny and moist position. Scrape away 3cm of soil and lay the roots in flat as in the below picture. They are creeping plants that are shallow rooted.

Lay them in 5-10cm apart and cover with 3cm of soil and compost mix. Spread a thin layer of mulch over the top. Mark the spot and either add branches over the lot or cover with bird netting to prevent birds from digging around and disturbing the plants. They will emerge between September and November depending on your climate and the warmth of the soil.
This plant will make a carpet of live roots within a couple of years. Highly prolific when happy.
