This Hay Fever Tea is a carefully crafted herbal blend designed to support the body during seasonal challenges and help bring comfort to irritated airways, sinus passages, and sensitive mucous membranes. Each herb has been traditionally used to assist the body in responding more calmly to airborne irritants while supporting clearer breathing and overall respiratory wellbeing.

Formulated with a combination of soothing, cleansing, and toning herbs, this blend works gently yet effectively to help reduce congestion, calm inflammation, and support the body’s natural detoxification and immune responses.

Golden Rod (Solidago virgaurea)

Goldenrod is traditionally used as a powerful anticatarrhal herb, helping the body clear excess mucus from the respiratory system. Rich in quercetin, it also offers natural anti-inflammatory and astringent properties that may help ease allergy-related symptoms and irritation.

Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica)

Nettle has a long history of use as a nourishing and supportive herb for seasonal allergies. It is traditionally used for hay fever, eczema, joint discomfort, and overall systemic support, helping the body adapt more comfortably to environmental triggers.

Elderflowers (Sambucus nigra)

Elderflowers are known for their gentle anti-inflammatory and soothing action on the respiratory system. They help calm irritated mucous membranes in the nose and throat while supporting the body’s natural cleansing processes.

Hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis)

Hyssop is a traditional respiratory herb valued for its expectorant and antiviral properties. It is commonly used for colds, sinus congestion, bronchial irritation, and seasonal respiratory discomfort, helping to support clearer breathing.

Kawakawa (Piper excelsum)

A treasured native New Zealand plant, kawakawa is widely used in traditional Māori medicine. It is valued for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and soothing properties, making it especially supportive for sinus discomfort, colds, flu, and hay fever symptoms.

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis)

Marshmallow is rich in mucilage, which gently coats and soothes irritated mucous membranes. It is traditionally used to calm dry, scratchy throats, coughs, and inflamed respiratory tissues.

Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis)

Eyebright is a classic herb for relieving discomfort associated with irritated eyes and sinuses. It is traditionally used for watery eyes, sinus congestion, nasal catarrh, and seasonal allergies affecting the eyes and head.

Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora)

Lemon verbena brings a refreshing and uplifting quality to this blend. It is traditionally associated with reducing inflammation, supporting immune balance, and easing congestion while also offering a calming effect on the digestive system.

Directions

Use 2 tsp per cup (250ml) of boiling water. Steep for 10–15 minutes, then strain. Add honey if desired. Herbs may be re-infused for a second cup on the same day.

For best results, drink 2–4 cups daily, beginning a few weeks before and continuing throughout the hay fever season.

This tea may also be used alongside our Health Elixir and Eye Compress for enhanced seasonal support.

Incredible tea

I have taken a steroid based nasal spray for dust and seasonal allergies for 20 years, since using this tea I have been able to stop using the spray. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Calms and supports

This is a great tasting tea and really helps calm my hay fever and support my system.<br />

I have been symptom free for a week now!

I'm a sheep and beef farmer on Banks Peninsula and have suffered from airborne allergies all my life, especially in Spring and Summer months due to increased pollen, grasses and dust. I recently approached Cornelia asking if she could suggest any remedies for relieving my hayfever allergy symptoms. She suggested I try her hayfever tea. Within the first day of drinking the tea I had no hayfever, even while working in dusty sheep yards where I would usually be sneezing all day. I have been symptom free for a week now. I am really pleased with the hayfever tea and would encourage any other hayfever allergy sufferers to try it.
