Our fresh Hawthorn berries are lovingly hand-harvested from our herb farm at the height of the season, when their colour, flavour, and natural vitality are at their best. Each batch is carefully sorted to ensure only high-quality, fully ripe berries make it into your pack.
Hawthorn (Crataegus spp.) has a long history in traditional herbal practices, particularly valued for its association with heart and circulatory wellbeing. These berries can be used to create your own herbal preparations, including tinctures, syrups, teas, or decoctions.
To preserve their freshness and quality, the berries packed and send out shortly after harvest. This helps maintain their freshness, colour, and beneficial constituents during storage and transport.

Cinnamomum verum
The use of cinnamon as an aromatic spice can be dated to as far back as ancient Egypt. Popular in spice mixes, sweet or savoury recipes, and hot or cold beverages.
This is Ceylon cinnamon. It is sometimes called 'true' cinnamon and is far superior in taste to the commonly used, cheaper cassia variety.

Hyssopus officinalis
Hyssop is a wonderful medicinal herb, which can be used as a medicinal herbal tea with soothing qualities useful to support the lungs during colds and flus* or as a flavouring for soups, sauces, meat and egg dishes. Use sparingly because of its strong flavour.
Harvested at their peak time in the middle of summer, gently dried and processed by hand. This retains their colour and medicinal constituents.

Kanuka Kunzea ericoides
A "tea-tree" similar to Manuka, traditionally used to make a herbal tea, grows well on KoruKai Herb Farm. We love it for its antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It supports the body to fight off infections.
We use Kanuka in herbal tea blend as foot soak and make infused oils for topical applications.

Skullcap can be taken over long periods of time to strengthen and reinvigorate the nervous system, making it more resilient and strong. It also can be taken in acute situations of extreme stress, such as panic attacks and trauma. In these situations skullcap works quickly to bring the nervous system back to a place of homeostasis and calm.*

Calendula (calendula officinalis) is often referred to as pot marigold. It can be used both internally and externally. It is very versatile. We have selected our flowers to have a high resin content and they prove to us every day that they have high medicinal qualities (more details below).

Motherwort is very effective at tonifying and strengthening the heart and circulatory system. Energetically it helps people to feel lionhearted (note its Latin name Leonurus cardiaca), hopeful and full of life. It helps maintain calmness during occasional stressful times, supporting emotional resilience and balance. Motherwort is potent bitter to aid digestion and tonifies the liver. It is also a strong nervine and can reduce nervous tension, relax muscles and ease menstrual discomfort and cramping. It is a common treatment for hot flushes and emotional upheaval.
