Worms will be available again in August. During the wet and cold winter months, separating the worms from the castings becomes too unpleasant. Sign up below to get an email once they are back in stock.
Composting worms turn food scraps and garden waste into rich, nutrient-dense vermicast—helping regenerate soil, support beneficial microbes, and improve nutrient cycling. This creates healthier, more resilient plants and increases soil water-holding capacity, an important benefit in times of drought and heavy rainfall.
You will receive 250g (approx. 1,000 worms) or 500g (approx. 2,000 worms), supplied with moist bedding in a breathable perforated bag. Worms arrive in a mix of ages and sizes and will quickly breed and multiply under suitable conditions.

Because a worm farm is a living ecosystem, it’s normal for a few other harmless critters commonly found in healthy worm systems to occasionally be included in your bag. This is completely natural and not a cause for concern.
Shipping is within New Zealand only. PO Boxes and rural addresses are welcome. Please simply monitor your tracking details for delivery updates.
If you purchase more than one order, we will pack them together in a single bag unless you request otherwise.
You will receive either 250g of composting worms (approx. 1,000 worms) or 500g (approx. 2,000 worms), supplied with moist, partially decomposed bedding. This bedding is made from certified organic rye straw, woodchips, and/or coconut coir to help protect and support the worms in transit and give them a healthy start.
Worms are carefully separated and weighed without bedding first, then placed into their shipping bag with protective moist material added. This means you are receiving a true weight of worms, not including bedding. The total package weight will therefore be higher (typically over 600g for a 250g order) due to the added moisture and bedding.
The worms include a mix of ages and sizes, ensuring a strong, active population that will quickly adapt, breed, and multiply when introduced to a suitable environment.
Thanks to the generous amount of moist bedding provided, the worms can remain healthy in transit for up to two weeks if needed. Once received, they should be introduced to a suitable worm farm environment as soon as possible for best results.
Worms are shipped throughout all of New Zealand. PO Boxes and rural addresses are fine. Simply keep an eye on your tracking details.

Each order includes basic care instructions covering feeding and bedding requirements. For beginners, we strongly recommend our Worm Farming Guide, which provides everything you need to successfully start and maintain a thriving worm farm.
Healthy soil is the foundation of all life—supporting plant, animal, environmental, and human health. Composting worms play a vital role in restoring this balance by transforming organic waste into nutrient-rich vermicast while improving soil structure and biology.
Vermicast (worm castings) is widely regarded as one of the most powerful natural fertilisers available. Often called “black gold,” it is rich in beneficial microbes and plant-available nutrients that help rebuild soil health from the ground up.
Over the past 12 years on our farm, we have consistently seen how worms reduce waste going to landfill, improve nutrient cycling, and dramatically enhance plant resilience, growth, and immunity.
By introducing composting worms into your system, you are actively helping to regenerate soil life, support biodiversity, and grow healthier, more nutrient-dense plants.

Worms have settled into their new home and seem pretty happy.<br /> Thanks
Tiger worms had a great journey to my place and are loving there new environment
Had them for a while now and they seem to be multiplying and devouring everything we can give them. Eaten their way though newspaper and cardboard as well as food scraps. Great workers!
They are now converting kitchen waste into valuable soil amendments.
Very happy with my new worm family from KoruKai Herb farm. Arrived in good condition and thriving well.
Received my worms today. They were very well packaged with plenty of bedding. A very generous, big clump of worms in the middle. Now they are settling into their new home. Thank you.
