Our Dishwash Bar is a powerful, plastic-free alternative to conventional bottled dish liquid—designed to cut through grease, lift food residue, and leave dishes sparkling clean while being gentle on your hands and kinder to the environment.
Made with cleansing coconut oil and boosted with fresh lemon-inspired essential oils, this solid dish soap creates a rich lather that tackles everyday washing up with ease. It is simple, effective, low waste, and ideal for eco-conscious kitchens.
Unlike many harsh detergents, this bar cleans thoroughly without leaving your hands feeling dry or stripped, making it a pleasure to use every day.
This bar can be used directly for everyday dishwashing. For best results, rinse excess food from dishes first. While filling your sink with hot water, hold the bar briefly under the running water. Then hold the bar in your hand and shake it vigorously near the water surface to help create extra bubbles and activate the lather.
Wash dishes as usual using a cloth, sponge, or dish brush. You can also rub a wet brush or sponge directly onto the bar for concentrated cleaning power.
This bar helps reduce single-use plastic bottles and unnecessary packaging while keeping your kitchen routine simple and effective.
Approx. 8cm x 6cm x 2cm
A compact bar that lasts well and works hard in the kitchen.
You can also turn this bar into a convenient liquid dishwash soap. It’s quick, easy to make, and yields approximately 500ml.
Step 1 – Grate the Bar
Using a fine cheese grater, grate the entire bar into a bowl. The finer the shreds, the faster and smoother the soap will melt.

Step 2 – Dissolve the Soap
Measure an equal volume of water to the amount of grated soap and pour it into a pot. Bring the water to the boil, then remove from the heat.
Add the grated soap and stir well until it begins to dissolve.
If small pieces remain, return the pot to low heat and gently simmer while stirring until fully melted. If needed, add a little extra water during this stage (up to ½ cup).

Step 3 – Cool & Bottle
Allow the mixture to cool completely. Once cooled, pour into a pump bottle or dispenser and it is ready to use.
If the soap thickens too much after cooling, simply stir in a small amount of warm water until you reach your preferred consistency.
Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Spring Water, Lye (saponified oils), Blend of Natural Essential Oils
Before discovering your dishwash bar I have been washing my dishes with sunlight soap and baking soda, which works, however your bar is so much easier to use, plus on top of that it gives especially glass a shine, which I love!!!
absolutely love love love this soap, you just need to touch it, it it lathers beautifully hence making dishwashing a pleasure. love the lovely fresh smell it leaves on your hands. thank you for making it !
We have a few dishwash bar options at Hopper Home Eco Shop in Wellington now, but customers seem to really like yours the most.
Thank you Korukai for this great soap. I purchased the metal thingy the soap goes into and am pleased with my change and progress away from plastic, even if it was recyclable. Even tho I brought Eco brands of dishwash in the past they are still commercialised. Love the soap.
The dishwash soap is great, I live off-grid in a vintage bus and so take care with everything going into the grey water and I feel good about this :)
Used this for the first time this evening. It’s really effective.

I still have to get used to the idea that bubbles don’t do the cleaning. The dish water had hardly any bubbles but all the dishes were well cleaned.

We don’t have a dishwasher so it was a full day’s load of dishes through the sink! It’s so good to ditch another lot of packaging.

Will definitely get these again.
I could bare the idea of using products (even organic) in a plastic bottle. The bar works as well as any other product without the nasties and the so unwanted packaging!
We have found this bar great for cutting through grease, cleaning my juicer of carrot stains and other tougher dish cleaning. We have only used it as a solid bar so far, not grated into a liquid.
This bar does exactly what it says. Cuts through grease & has a lovely refreshing lemon fragrance. I use as is. Nice & easy to use & happy to be cutting back on plastic containers.
