1 cup of soda ash (also known as washing soda, sodium carbonate, available here)
1 cup of baking soda (also known as sodium bicarbonate, available here)
essential oils (optional)
Step 1: Use a fine cheese grater to grate the entire stick into a bowl. Use the finest grater you have.
Step 2: Put the grated soap into a food processor and add the soda ash and the baking soda. Blend until it is uniform.
This is very concentrated without any fillers. It only takes 1-2 tablespoons of powder for each load. You can also add 1-3 drops of essential oil per load. Lavender, lemon or eucalyptus are great for a refreshing scent.

Versatile, smells great!
I have been using these stain sticks in my home made laundry powder for a few months now. A little goes a long way and my clothes are fresh and clean! I use a combination of Soda Ash and Borax then grate the stain sticks into this and mix up.
